The 5P71 3MMC particulate filter is NIOSH-approved for atmospheres containing certain oil-free particles. Use with 3M? 5000 series respirators, 3M? 6000 series cartridges or 3M? 603 filter adapters and 3M501 filter retainer.

When properly adjusted, the 5P71 (07194) 3MMC particulate filter can be used with the appropriate cartridges for a variety of applications, including aerosol painting, lacquering, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing, pesticide spraying and agricultural work, for concentrations up to 10 times the permissible exposure limit with half-face masks, or up to 50 times the permissible exposure limit with full-face masks. The use of a pre-filter on 6000 series cartridges helps extend their service life. Full-face masks must undergo a quantitative fit test to be assigned a characteristic protection factor greater than 10 in negative pressure mode. Use the 603 adapter only if particle protection is required. Do not use if the atmosphere presents an immediate danger to life or health (DIVS).
