How to choose your winter work boots

For workers who spend their days outdoors, choosing the right pair of work boots is essential. To ensure your comfort and safety, follow these tips to choose the right winter boots for your needs.

1. Assess your thermal insulation needs

The first factor to consider is thermal insulation. If you work in cold conditions, a boot with insulation between 600g and 1000g is recommended. This will keep you warm without overheating your foot. These boots are ideal at the start of the season or if you're constantly on the move during the cold season. Insulation materials such as Thinsulate or Primaloff are often used to keep your feet warm. Our winter boots also feature a waterproof membrane to keep your feet dry.

2. Get ready for colder days ❄️

If you're faced with more extreme temperatures, or if your work is more stationary, opt instead for boots fitted with felts, or consider adding a Neos boot cover. These options offer superior insulation for the most rigorous conditions, but are a little bulkier than boots insulated with Thinsulate or Primaloft.

3. Fight humidity at all costs 🙅‍♂️

Moisture is enemy number one for your feet in winter. Be sure to wear merino wool socks, which retain heat even when wet. Combined with insulated boots according to YOUR needs, you'll keep your feet dry and warm. Avoid cotton socks, as they retain moisture.
