Irish Setter Wingshooter ST are top-quality work boots made in the USA.
Their lightweight safety toe cap offers spacious protection. UltraDry™ waterproofing keeps your feet dry, and the wedge-shaped sole offers optimized slip resistance.
In 1950, the Red Wing Shoe Company of Red Wing, Minnesota, introduced a 9-inch leather boot for sportsmen and hunters who spent their autumn days in the woods and fields of North America.
The boot, model 854, was made from leather tanned with redwood bark extract. This gave it a distinctive reddish-orange color called "Oro Russet". It so closely resembled the coat color of Irish Setters that it was named "Irish Setter" in the company's 1950 catalog.
Wingshooter boots were originally developed with the legendary white crepe sole for very practical reasons. The shallow lug sole was designed to get rid of mud and debris, so the boot served a dual purpose for farmers who carried it into their barns and pastures, then took it out into the field for hunting.
In addition to being used by hunters, Irish Setter boots quickly found their way to American construction sites, as hunters began wearing their hunting boots to work! So, in 2017, Irish Setter introduced the Wingshooter ST!
