The 6006 3MMC multi-gas and organic vapour cartridge is NIOSH-approved against certain organic vapours, acid gases, ammonia, methylamine or formaldehyde. Use with 3M? 6000 Series half-facepiece and full-facepiece respirators, and 3M? 7000 Series half-facepiece and full-facepiece respirators with bayonet-type cartridge retainers.
The 6006 3MMC multi-gas and organic vapor cartridge is used in a variety of applications, including petrochemicals, chemical manufacturing, utilities, pharmaceuticals, mining and primary metals. When properly fitted, it helps provide respiratory protection against certain organic vapors, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, methylamine, formaldehyde or hydrogen fluoride for concentrations up to 10 times the permissible exposure limit with half-face masks, or up to 50 times the permissible exposure limit with full-face masks. Full-face masks must be quantitatively fit-tested to achieve a characteristic protection factor greater than 10 in negative pressure mode. Do not use if the atmosphere presents an immediate danger to life or health (IDLH). OSHA requires gas-tight goggles to be worn with half-mask formaldehyde respirators.
